Adult Carers' Strategy

The COVID pandemic highlighted the significant contribution of adult unpaid carers in the delivery of health and social care. Without the support of Renfrewshire's caring community, it would be extremely difficult to provide the level of care and support required to enable people to continue living in their own homes and communities.

The Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 states that all HSCPs must prepare and publish a Carers' Strategy, Eligibility Criteria for Carers, and a Short Breaks Statement. These documents must be reviewed after three years.

This consultation aims to help us understand more about our unpaid carers, what support they provide and what support they need. We want to hear from as many carers as possible. We also want to hear from people who are involved in identifying, or supporting unpaid carers, or who have an interest in this area.

Your contributions are valued and will help us to develop a refreshed Adult Carer Strategy 2022-25, Short Breaks Statement and Adult Carer Eligibility Criteria.
